Doing Time the Right Way

Busyness is king in today’s world. Everyone I know is talking about how busy they are or how busy their day was – myself included. I find myself getting sick of this word and trying to find substitutes to still get the point across that I had a full day. But of course I had a full day! We’re all adults here (maybe) and so we should be able to see that with adult jobs come adult responsibilities, which often take up adult amounts of time. So how do we navigate the busyness of our schedules and still make time for family and friends and enjoying our lives?

The Texas Adventure!

I moved to Dallas in 2012 to complete my dietetic internship and have been here ever since! When I was applying for internships, I had this inkling that I wanted to try living somewhere outside of Ohio, where I was born and raised. Now, I love Ohio, but I just wanted a change. While thinking about where to apply my dad told me, “Dream big!” Then when I told my parents where I planned to apply (i.e. everywhere except Ohio), he said something along the lines of, “I didn’t know you’d go that big.”

Discipleship

If you look up the definition of “disciple” you will undoubtedly find references to Jesus Christ and his teachings. Simply put, a disciple is someone who learns from someone else – you do not have to be a part of a specific religion to be discipled. I bet you can name ten people you’ve learned from in your life that aren’t named Jesus.The point is you have and are learning from – aka being discipled by – people and things and experiences all the time. Maybe that doesn’t seem like a big deal to you. I want to argue that it is.
